In a joint venture of HILL & CESPA (UConn’s Center for the Ecological Study of Perception and Action), we (Joanna Rączaszek-Leonardi, Claudia Carello, and Konrad Zieliński) organized the Petit Peripatetic Conference, strengthened by merging with a soft relaunch of the Guy van Orden Cognition and Dynamics Workshop.
On September 20th, 2025, a 1 day affair (hence, petit) conference took place, consisting of a series of brief questions (also petit) discussed in a variety of settings, including a nature walk (hence, peripatetic). Instead of regular talks, Participants were invited to formulate questions about issues that have been nagging them in cognition and dynamics, methodology, philosophy, and so on. Everybody had 5 min for a question, which was followed by 10 min of initial consideration by the group – to be continued during walking along a trail in the Wolf Rock Nature Preserve, during a stationary session around Wolf Rock itself, during the gathering at Claudia’s house (including on the hilltop deck where Guy and Michael Turvey first devised the Cognition & Dynamics Workshop), and while enjoying a Polish party with pierogi & gołąbki galore.
